Students carved the symbol into a foam block that had meaning to them after a discussion about the meaning of Adinkra symbolism. They then rolled the printing plate and printed their symbols. They really enjoyed seeing their symbols come to life. Composite prints were made after students did their smaller prints where they pressed their symbols onto a larger sheet.
Materials Used:
Household foam insulation, Primary pencils to mark the foam, black block printing ink, thick art paper, slightly dampened to help hold the ink, a brayer and small hand press.
